WebFeb 28, 2024 · In this review, we focused on the mechanistic insights of DNA, histone, and RNA methylation that regulate the progression of PC. The methylation regulators including writer, eraser and reader participate in the modification of gene expression associated with cell proliferation, invasion and apoptosis. WebBoth genomic region compaction and gene expression are modulated by epigenetic modifications, which are deposited by specific enzymes (known as "writers"), and subsequently recognized by effector proteins ("readers"). Most, if not all, epigenetic marks are reversible, and various enzymes ("erasers") remove these marks.

WebOur group has contributed to the molecular and functional understanding of histone mark and DNA methylation mark readout by writer, reader and eraser proteins, as well as investigated the crosstalk between histone and DNA methylation marks. In addition, we have also studied aspects of RNA-directed DNA methylation in plants. WebApr 14, 2024 · Reflecting these important roles, many of these reader/writer/eraser proteins are either frequently mutated or differentially expressed in cancer. The disruption of epigenetic regulation in the cell can both contribute to cancer initiation and progression, and increase the likelihood of developing resistance to chemotherapies. the end slide for ppt
